A bespoke invitation suite from Babooche Calligraphy is a complete, cohesive collection of luxury paper goods designed to introduce your wedding to your guests in the most beautiful way possible. Here is what is typically included.
Custom Illustration
A hand-drawn illustration created exclusively for your wedding. This may be a venue illustration, a custom monogram or crest, a botanical design, a map of your wedding location or any motif meaningful to your story. Where appropriate, the artwork can be developed beyond the invitation suite and carried across your wider wedding identity, from digital save the dates and websites to signage and wedding day details. We have illustrated venues including Villa Pizzo on Lake Como, Château de Chantilly, Villa Corsini in Florence and Euridge Manor in the Cotswolds.
Handmade Paper
We source the finest handmade cotton papers from specialist mills. With natural deckled edges, beautiful texture and a weight that feels substantial and luxurious in the hand, our papers are a world apart from standard invitation card stock. Paper selection is a key part of the design process and we will guide you through the options as your suite develops.
Artisan Printing
We specialise in letterpress printing, which creates a beautiful deep impression in the paper, and hot foil stamping in gold, silver, copper and rose gold. Many of our suites combine both techniques for a layered, tactile finish that cannot be replicated digitally. We work with master printers across Europe to achieve the finest possible result.
Hand Calligraphy
Guest envelopes can be addressed by hand in Asha’s signature calligraphy style, included as standard in our Complete and Luxury tiers. Elegant, timeless and deeply personal, hand addressed envelopes transform your invitations from beautiful stationery into something truly special. We also offer hand calligraphy for inner envelopes, place cards and any other elements of your suite.
Embellishments
The finishing touches that make your suite truly heirloom quality. Custom wax seals with your monogram or motif, silk ribbons in your wedding colours, hand-painted envelope liners, vintage postage stamps, vellum wraps and belly bands. Every detail is considered and every embellishment is chosen to complement the overall design aesthetic.

Explore The Details
If your wedding feels like a good fit for our bespoke service, we will invite you to complete our detailed discovery questionnaire. This gives us the information we need to understand your style, priorities and the pieces you may need before we prepare a considered proposal.
Proposal & Booking
Once we have reviewed your discovery questionnaire, we prepare a considered proposal outlining the recommended design direction, suite components and investment. We can then arrange a call to talk everything through, and when you are ready to proceed, a contract and deposit secure your commission in our calendar.
Design & Refine
We begin designing your suite, starting with initial concept sketches and building through to fully realised digital proofs. You will have dedicated access to your own client portal where you can review designs, leave feedback and track progress. We refine the design together until every detail is exactly right.
Print & Craft
Once your design is approved and your final proof signed off, production begins. We work with master printers across Europe to produce your suite using letterpress, hot foil, embossing and other artisan techniques on your chosen handmade papers. We share progress images throughout so you can be part of the process.
Deliver
Your completed suite is carefully assembled, packaged and shipped to you anywhere in the world with full tracking. Your invitations arrive beautifully presented and ready to send, a luxurious beginning to your wedding celebration and a memory your guests will treasure long after the day itself.

Letterpress Printing
One of the oldest and most revered printing techniques, letterpress creates a beautiful deep impression in the paper that you can feel with your fingertips. Each design is printed using hand-set type or photopolymer plates pressed into the surface of thick handmade paper, creating a tactile result that is impossible to replicate digitally.
Hot Foil Stamping
Hot foil stamping applies a metallic or pigmented foil to the paper surface using heat and pressure, creating a lustrous, reflective finish that catches the light beautifully. We offer foiling in gold, silver, copper, rose gold and a range of coloured foils. Foiling can be combined with letterpress for a layered, dimensional result of extraordinary luxury.
Hand Calligraphy
Envelopes can be addressed by hand in Asha’s signature calligraphy style, included as standard in our Complete and Luxury tiers and available as an addition to Essential. Using traditional dip pens and high quality inks, hand calligraphy adds an irreplaceable personal quality to your invitations. No two envelopes are identical and each one is a small work of art in its own right. We also offer hand calligraphy for inner envelopes, place cards and seating charts.
Handmade Paper
Our handmade papers are sourced from specialist mills and made using traditional techniques from cotton and natural fibres. With beautiful natural deckled edges, subtle texture and a weight and substance that feels extraordinary in the hand, handmade paper transforms a printed invitation into a keepsake. What makes bespoke wedding invitations different from semi-custom?
Bespoke wedding invitations are designed entirely from scratch, exclusively for your wedding. Every element, from the illustration to the typography, paper choice and printing technique, is created specifically for you and will never be used for another couple. Semi-custom invitations use a pre-designed template that is personalised with your details. Both are beautiful but bespoke offers complete creative freedom and total exclusivity.
How much do bespoke wedding invitations cost?
Each bespoke invitation suite is quoted individually according to the design, quantities, suite components, paper, printing techniques and embellishments. Send us an enquiry with your wedding date, venue and initial ideas. Once we have reviewed your detailed discovery questionnaire, we prepare a tailored proposal setting out the recommended suite, design direction and full investment before you decide whether to proceed.
How far in advance should I book my bespoke invitations?
We recommend booking 9 to 12 months before your wedding date. Enquiring early gives us time to plan your design and production around your wedding date. The earlier you enquire the more time we have to dedicate to your design and the more relaxed the creative process will feel for both of us. If your timeline is shorter please do still get in touch as we occasionally have last minute availability.
Do you create bespoke invitations for destination weddings abroad?
Yes, destination weddings are our speciality. We work with couples from the United States, Canada, Australia and around the world planning weddings in Italy, France, the UK and beyond. Our design process is managed remotely through your dedicated client portal, email and digital proofs, with calls arranged where useful, so distance is never a barrier. We have created suites for weddings at Villa Pizzo on Lake Como, Château de Chantilly in France, Villa Corsini in Florence, Euridge Manor in the Cotswolds and many more iconic European venues.
Can you create a custom illustration of our wedding venue?
Absolutely. Custom venue illustrations are one of our most requested elements and one of the things we love most about the bespoke process. We create detailed hand-drawn illustrations of your venue in watercolour or line art style, capturing the architectural character and atmosphere of the location. We have illustrated Italian villas, French châteaux, English manor houses, London landmarks and many other venues across Europe.
How many revisions are included in the bespoke design process?
Our Essential tier includes two rounds of revisions and our Complete and Luxury tiers include unlimited revisions. In practice we find that most designs come together beautifully within two to three rounds of feedback. We work collaboratively with you throughout the process and are committed to getting every detail exactly right before moving to print.
Can the invitation design continue across the rest of the wedding?
Yes. Your bespoke invitation can become the starting point for a complete visual identity carried across the wedding. We can develop the same artwork, monogram or design language into animated save the dates, wedding websites, custom signage, menus, place cards, table details and other on the day stationery so every element feels connected from the first announcement through to the celebration itself.
