OUR STYLE

At Babooche Calligraphy we create bespoke, fine art wedding and event stationery.   Each piece is carefully designed and hand crafted with a high quality finish.  We take inspiration from nature, organic form and texture, and antique heirlooms.

Our calligraphy style is elegant and timeless and often used in combination with beautiful typography.

The selection of papers and printing techniques used to create our stationery is what makes us different and unique and we love to explore and experiment with our designs.

We love to create designs that involve texture, playing with light and dark, colour and natural shapes or touches.  Through calligraphy writing, hand drawn illustrations, watercolour, foiling, letterpress we can always provide a high quality service and product for our clients.

INVESTMENT

We understand that couples have different budgets to work with for their wedding stationery. It is our strong desire that all couples should have the wedding stationery of their dreams. To help with this notion, we have developed a range of pre-designed invitation suites with on the day stationery items to compliment each design. This is know as our Semi-Custom Collections and the investment required ranges from £1500. These collections are based on some our best selling designs and with so much beautiful detail we hope you can find a design that is suitable.

We are makers of fine art wedding stationery papers and our Bespoke design price starts from £3000 for a set of 100 invitation suites.  We do not compromise on details, texture and extras for our Bespoke design service and can cater to even the most obscure design requests.

WEDDING STATIONERY OPTIONS

There are three main categories of wedding stationery to consider ordering and these include Save The Dates, Invitation Suite and On The Day stationery items.  See below for more information.

SAVE THE DATES

A Save the Date is the first item of stationery that is sent to guests to inform your guests you are getting married and when that all important date is!  It’s an opportunity to give you guests a first glimpse of the theme of your wedding, the venue, destination and anything else you want to say.

INVITATION SUITE

Invitation suites can consist of the actual invitation card, RSVP and Details cards.  The RSVP will allow your guests to reply and let you know if they will be attending the wedding.  The Details card will usually detail some important information such as travel and accommodation details.  It is also popular to detail your wedding website on here too if you are planning to have one.

ON THE DAY

On The Day stationery can include all the special touches such as place cards, wedding menus, wedding signage, wedding table plans, wedding table numbers, order of service booklets, vow booklets and favour tags.  It’s a great opportunity to carry your stationery theme into these paper goods.

TIMELINE FOR SENDING OUT YOUR WEDDING STATIONERY

Knowing when to send out your wedding stationery is a key topic of conversation full of questions by many of our couples.  There are lots of elements to think of and making sure timing is on point is key!  For example, making sure you get your RSVPs in time will help you know the total amount of guests so you can pass this information on to key wedding suppliers like your caterer.

We’ve put a very helpful timeline starting from the moment you get engaged and we hope you find it useful.

JUST ENGAGED!

Congratulations!  Enjoy the moment!

It’s best to start putting your inspiration together not just for stationery but for any idea you have may for your wedding.  A lot of people start doing this one year before they get married.  Pinterest is a great place to start – but be warned it can also be a very time stealing platform!  Write down any ideas you have so you can come back to them later.

Once you have decided on a date the countdown begins and so does your wedding stationery journey.

SAVE THE DATE!

12-14 MONTHS AHEAD

Now you know your BIG date, it’s time to let your family and friends now so they can mark it in their calendars.

It is a good idea to give your guests as much notice about your wedding so they don’t book a holiday or other plans in around the same time.  If you are getting married abroad we highly recommend you send your first item of wedding stationery out – you Save the Dates!  Aim for posting these out at least 12-14 months before your wedding date. So you will need to taken into account that your wedding stationery designer needs to be booked in 6-8 weeks before then.

ORDER INVITATIONS

6-9 MONTHS AHEAD

Now is a good time to follow up with ordering the Invitations and other relevant invitation suite items. These may include RSVPs or Detail Cards. Details cards are popular to send as they will contain important information about accommodation  or transport details including maps. Allow for about 6-8 weeks to design and produce your wedding stationery and that includes enough time for you to proof it all too.

POST INVITATIONS

4-6 MONTHS AHEAD

The exciting step of sharing more insight into your special day is here by popping your invitations in the post.   Now all you need to do is sit back and wait for those RSVPs to come in.

ON THE DAY STATIONERY

3-4 MONTHS AHEAD

Collate all your RSVPs and put that guest list together. It’s best to order your On the Day stationery items as soon as you start getting your RSVPs in. On the Day Stationery Items take about 6-8 weeks to produce, but might take longer during peak wedding season. On The Day stationery includes wedding signage, menus, place cards and order of service. These special and personalised items really provide the final special touches for your big day. It’s also a great opportunity to carry your stationery design theme through to these items

AFTER THE WEDDING

Once the wedding is over, it’s time to say a special thank you to your guests with a thank you card!
